Hi all,

My BIL had his first clinic today (Type 2) and hasnt gone into detail about results or HBA1C other than they have doubled his medication (Metformin). Is this an indication that the HBA1C is worse or is this normal proceedure to increase doses gradually?🙂Bev

It's normal for them to step up medication because often you are put on a half dose of metformin initially because of it's tendency to turn you into a 100m sprinter!

However, I would expect to be told my numbers and have it explained what they meant.

Hi Mark T,

He he - that had me chuckling! Thanks for your reply - it does make sense to start off gradually when you explain it like that.:DBev
