i had breakfast at 7am and not had chance to eat all dayand only had a few cups of coffee(bad i know) at 2.15ish i got home i started to feel very shaky and like was was going to pass out i tested my bs but it was only 5.7 this is low for me i have had a sandwich and a boost choocy bar but still feel very shaky ,
is this like a hypo im on metformin 3times a day. i know i should have tried to eaten earlier but i have been so busy
 
Hi Stacey, don't worry, your level was OK, but you got the symptoms of a hypo because you are not used to being at those kinds of levels - it was a low for you. As you manage to get your levels lower generally, you will only get these symptoms when you are much lower than 5.7. Just a little something to eat will make your brain think that you are now ok and the symptoms should fade fairly quickly. It's only people on certain types of tablets or insulin that have to worry about possibly falling dangerously low, so don't be overly concerned about it 🙂
 
If its not normally the levels you are used to then your body can give out warning signs as if your having a hypo, your perfectly safe though, they will normalize once you have been sitting stable for a while......
