hi. my hba1c has gone from 115 on 29th Feb (when diagnosed) to 86 on 3rd may. is this a good reduction?

Well it's certainly a reasonable drop in 2 months especially since the oldest 4 weeks out of the 12 the test covers were before you were even diagnosed - but bearing in mind we're all aiming for an HbA1c of 48 - I'm afraid you still have a fair way to go yet!

You'll get there though cos obviously whatever you are doing is working - have you cut the amount of carbohydrate you are eating, and done more exercise? - how have you done it?

any reduction is good so keep it up (or should that be down!)

I'd say that's pretty good, keep up the good work and the next one should be even better 🙂

Yes Laura, that's a great improvement 🙂 I'm sure your next one will be even better if you carry on doing what you have been doing 🙂 It's actually better if you don't plummet all at once, because this can place more stress on your body, particularly the small blood vessels, so that drop is very encouraging 🙂 How do you feel now, are you feeling better about things?

yes feel much better in myself. didn't know what to expect 2 months on as I guess it will have taken me time after diagnosis to get under control. hopefully can do a similar reduction in another 2 months. so much help and advice on here. little support otherwise for a non insulin T2.
