Is anyone using iOS17 with Libre?

I have an iPhone 12 and iOS 17.5.1 - no issues. Updates are continuous. Don't know how I managed w/o Libre2 - well, yes I do, it was trial & error.

I updated to IOS 17.5.1. yesterday with no problems for Libre 2, must admit I hung on as long as possible without updating, but still followed the Abbott advice and made sure Standby and assistive access were off. iPhone 14

My iPhone automatically updated two or three weeks ago and since then I’ve been getting the ‘signal loss’ message. I can only get readings if I scan the sensor manually. I have libre 2 sensors. It’s quite dangerous at night as my alarm won’t sound if I go low. I get no readings all night until I scan sensor when I wake up. I had no idea about compatibility issues. I thought it was a faulty sensor, but when a second sensor did the same thing I called Abbott. They asked me to try a few things on my phone- nothing worked. They didn’t mention the iOS compatibility issue.
I’m not sure what to do now.

Have you shut the standby and assistive access in your settings? That was the advice given, so I did that and all works ok

made sure Standby and assistive access were off. iPhone 14
Good to know. I found that Standby was ON and AA was OFF. So I turned Standby OFF. I've been having disconnects - I'll keep watching now to see if anything changes. (iPhone 12 on 17.5.1)

My standby was on and AA was off. I thought the advice was to leave the standby on. I’ve now switched it off so will see if that helps. Thanks for the advice.

Let us know how it goes

I’ve tried it, but it made no difference. Having become so reliant on the readings from the sensor I’m finding it quite stressful to be without them. Surely Abbott should make sure that problems like this don’t happen.
I have my old iPhone, so I thought I might try to use that again as it has the old operating system.

Do Android or Windows mobile (still going?) users suffer from disconnects ?

I found an Abbott document that lists compatible devices, etc. with Freestyle Libre 2 sensors. It has iOS up to 17.3.1 and iPhone up to 14 pro. I have updated to 17.5.1 and have an iPhone 15 plus. So- perhaps the phone and iOS combination I have is too new for the sensor software.
I’m going to try a new sensor today with my old phone on iOS 16. I hate to throw out a sensor- oh well!

I’ve now connected up my old iPhone XR which has the old os 16.6. This is working normally with a new Freestyle Libre 2 sensor I put in today. Quite a relief.
I suppose I’ll just have to use my old phone until Abbott update their sensors to tie in with the latest apple os.
I have to start all over again with the sensor readings, so can’t see my hba1c estimate now.
And my old phone has a lousy battery and smaller screen!

As with you. my phone automatically updated to IOS 17.5.1. FreeStyle Libre 2. Various bad things: "Sensor Error" each time I brought the phone close to the 6-day old sensor that had been working fine. Replaced the sensor: the sensor wasn't recognized by the application; after 1 hour, the app reported that it couldn't pair with the sensor. Tried several more sensors. None got any response from the app. Somewhere in this saga, the app recommended an update. Version 2.7.7.4230 works just as poorly as its predecessor.

Finally, I remembered I have the Abbot-provided reader that I had never previously used. That reads fine. Another gadget to carry around; vastly fewer features than the app. But it works and the app doesn't.

In my estimation, the nice people at Apple erred in not testing 17.5.1 for low power blue tooth.

Of course, there's no easy path to a previous version of IOS.

(Abbot replaced the spoiled sensors. I wish Abbot would light a flame under the folks at Apple.)

The whole situation is a pain in the neck. I’m glad you found an alternative.
My latest version of the librelink app is 2.11.2.8275, so it odd that your version is older than that. Neither of them work so it doesn’t make a difference anyway.
I’m going to call Abbot about replacing my two wasted sensors.
