Relationship to Diabetes
HCP/Researcher
Hello,

I'm Ansty, a student at King's. I am happy to be in this forum. I am doing my research on type 1 diabetes. Thanks for letting me share with you all

Welcome. If you are here for help research you need to get admin approval.

Hi Ansty and welcome

Was there something particular that drew your interest to Diabetes.... a family or personal connection perhaps?
What specifically about Type 1 are you researching.... if you are able to explain in layman's terms?

Thanks.
I'm interested in understanding couples' experiences of living with a partner who has type 1 diabetes

Thanks for flagging up that you do have admin approval.
Do you have questionnaire for people to respond to, or are you just seeking open responses?

Thanks.

That is interesting.... assume this is from a psychological angle?

I don't have a questionnaire, but I will post the message so that those who are interested can indicate their interest

King’s College London & Tavistock Relationships charity are looking for research volunteers who are: Persons with type 1 diabetes aged > 18 & their partner who have been in a relationship for at least one year after diagnosis to share their experiences. Please contact Prof Jackie Sturt Email: jackie.sturt@kcl.ac.uk

Sounds really interesting, I have emailed my interest.

It was my pleasure to work with Jackie (and others of course!) on a diabetes project some years ago when she worked at Warwick Uni, until she left and went to Kings. Her original and main interest was and is psychology - but she knows a LOT about diabetes too!

If it's possible to make the research interesting - for all concerned - I'm more than slightly inclined to think it will be! LOL
