This woman is researching how to stop the autoimmunity which causes Type 1. The fact that they are now trying their technique with humans gives me hope. Not sure I'd sign up to be one of their guinea pigs, though!

There's a bit of an update on this story (some new results were revealed at a US conference at the weekend), which sounds v.interesting. I know this research has prompted some lively debate for and against, but thought you'd all like to read the latest in the Wall Street Journal 🙂

I didn't quite understand all of the technical blah and acronyms in the snipet but if you google her and read up about the lady in Wikipedia, her research is explained a bit fuller and is as up-to-date as this month!
