Hi everyone seems to me that I should have joined this group a while back.Diagnosed type 2 back in 2012.I manage diabetes well as I have great support from my wife.I’ve just recently retired and am enjoying life being ex Royal Navy and a Chef all my working life now being in the slow lane is great. I have a question for you all out there are there any reputable Insurance Companies who will give me life cover with a decent pay out if I snuff it. I have to say my wife has no problem as she is as fit as a butcher’s dog,so far my search has proved fruitless

I think it’s difficult to know whether any of these policies and products are really ‘fit for purpose’ for people with diabetes - certainly when I looked a couple of years back I quickly formed the conclusion that ’shoebox under the bed’ was about as attractive as the policies and conditions that were being offered.

You aren't the first to have this thought though - not sure if there is anything helpful amongst here?

Thanks for all your help it’s given me food for thought,really glad I’m not the only one.Have spoken to a advisor and it looks like there may be light at the end of the tunnel,should find out in a couple of days.Richard D
