I hope someone can offer me some guidance?
My brother was Type 1 diabetic and died suddenly on 2nd April 2013 (aged 34)- this was the cause of death (his diabetes was within the stable boundaries). On this day i was on on holiday abroad and needlessly to say i flew straight back to the UK. The problem i have is that the insurance company are stating he had a pre-existing condition and took prescribed mediation so they will not refund me on flights and cutailment of my holiday. My brother was insulin dependant for years, led a fully functional life (in fact, he died on the way to work); he was not on holiday with me. Based on the insurance company arguement any family with diabetes in the family are not covered if the worst happens. Can anyone help me / point me in the right direction?
