Wishing you lots of luck in your battle to get the correct diagnosis. In the meantime it would be worth you applying for a free 14 day trial of the Freestyle Libre, which is one sensor, assuming you have a compatible phone. It is also possible although expensive to self fund until you get them on prescription and many of us Type 1s and indeed some Type 2s still do this, but the free trial is well worth applying for with no real drawback, other than feeling a bit vulnerable for a day or two when it ends, because it really is a big reassurance when you have it. If you do a search for Freestyle Libre you will I am sure find the free trial info. You have to be diabetic and have a suitable phone ... but the list is long) and not have previously trialed it.
Thank you, I am certainly going to spend some time today looking into this as I think what this really does for me would be to prevent my symptoms having to get too strong. An alarm going off under five is so much more helpful and would make me feel less grotty then having to wait to the symptoms to guide me to test. Thank you for taking the time to share this information

Well take it from me.. I have insider info and apparently you’re not allowed to eat people who work for the NHS…. They are quite strict about that
At that point, it wasn't just the staff, it was the other patients and their visitors too, nobody was safe from the ravenous, starved madman foaming at the mouth lol

Just an update, Thanks to everyone who posted and shared such helpful information.
Thanks to said info, I challenged into my GP about changing my diagnosis and got met with no opposition so on my medical records it's now been changed from time to to 3c/steroid induced.
I also received contact from The hospital based specialist diabetes team yesterday and have an appointment to see the Dr there on the 27th of this month.

I'm so very grateful for everybody's support and without that, I'd suspect that I'd have quietly tolerated things not being right through not knowing any better so your contributions really have made a significant difference.

With much thanks and gratitude,
Matt
