Its a good idea having a separate fridge for your insulin as using the kitchen fridge constantly being open and closed all day struggles to maintain the ideal temp 4-8 deg for insulin i know this as i keep a thermometer in the fridge and is often 10-12 deg in the day time and around 8 deg at night of cause it depends on the quality of the fridge so i bought a small half size fridge that i keep my insulin and beers and a little overflow food on upstairs landing close to all my insulin pump paraphernalia desk witch is a lot less now i have a omnipod dash .i did by a insulin travel fridge some years back that can take a couple of pens and 2 vile but struggled to keep cold when outside temp was more than 30 deg if thats any help.

Good luck with your search @JonM

Do be careful about ensuring whatever it is has an effective thermostat. I’ve heard some accounts from people who have used mini-fridges in holiday accommodation, and unfortunately found that some areas in the fridge had frozen - which, of course would ruin insulin 😱

Thanks. I have bought a separate thermometer to try to mitigate variations ( arriving today ). The fridge is hardly going to break the bank so if it doesn’t work out there will not be much lost. Thanks for the heads up though.JonM.
