Insulin production

Hi

I'd like to know the production process of (probably synthetic - isn't that the most commonly used?) insulin for a particular arguement I'm having with a full time numptee (spelling? sorry).

I've looked online but cannot find too much that's clear cut.

I know a lot of you people have a wide knowledge of such things, and have a good set of bookmarks todo with this ace disease, and would appreciate some help here.

Anyway one of the plonkers main points was the following;

2) Diabetics are the main contributors to global warming on account of the huge swathes of rainforests being cut down in order to grow insulin

I understand it to be a load of rubbish, but want to be sure before I come back to him. I'm guessing he's an uneducated baffoon!

I know it's a stupid question and whats written above is clearly rubbish, but if I look an idiot when I reply to him next I won't have a leg to stand on!

I would suggest to him that his statement is pure an*l verbalisation - he is talking out of his a*se, and probably emitting vast quantites of harmful greenhouse gases in the process as his argument stinks. NOW who's responsible for global warming?😱

It was a group email in facebook (facemail?) and he is making my blood boil!!

Just to be clear I realised insulin wasn;t grown in fields, but is infact produced in labs!!

I've also had some really weird, and nasty messages about diabetes from people on facebook and other forums etc, never understand why they bother! Always seems to happen more once the schools have broken up, more people trying to 'entertain' themselves I suppose...!

Hehe No I didnt read your mind. I was on a diabetes group on facebook once and there was this crazy guy saying we should all die and we are diseased. I sent him a message to say that I know he doesn't believe in what he's saying, but he will upset kids and said he is sick etc... It mean that I could look at some stuff on his profile. He had about 5 friends lol and I noticed that he was also a BNP loving racist aswell, so that explained a lot. I then blocked him so I can't see his stooopid messages anymore and so that he couldnt send me any abuse! was this guys name lord something?? (think that's what he was called...)

Yeah, i'm pretty sure they don't believe what they are saying (thank god) but they are trying to upset people for their own entertainment!!
