Hello everyone 🙂 after a long absence I am back. I will update you all in a different thread.

The day before yesterday I used my Humalog as normal. Everything fine. Woke up yesterday morning to find that it had a slightly yellowy orangey tinge to it. It has been open just over a week and had about 60units left. I took it to the chemist and they said they're gonna send it back to the manufacturer. They gave me a brand new pen so I'm ok on that front. The pharmacist told me she'd never seen it before. Have any of you??

Sorry I can’t answer your question Rosie but just wanted to welcome you back and hope you’re a whole lot better x

Come on Rosie own up you put some gin and orange in the vial by mistake 😉 Joking apart no I haven't heard of that colour change before.

Ps it's fab to see you back again and hope you are well.

Hi Rosie. Welcome back I too hope you’re feeling much better.
Re the insulin, I think it may have gone off. We never really know what’s happened to it before we collected it.

Welcome back! Just a long shot, if you didnt keep the plunger/button fully depressed until you'd withdrawn the needle, and you happened to hit a capillary (as sometimes happens) Could you have sucked up a tiny drop of blood into the cartridge?
(Quit right to take it back, I wouldn't want to use it if it was a strange colour for whatever reason)

Yellowy orange insulin doesn't sound right. Glad the pharmacist saved the day and glad to see you posting again.

No - not to change colour - I've had clear go cloudy, but it was still 'white' LOL (crystalisation)

Hello Rosie!😛

Glad to hear the pharmacist was sensible and efficient.

Welcome back.🙂
