Well I don't want to chance anything at the moment Mike. Belt and braces it may be, but I'd rather do that right now.
I watched something about this concern the other day and it was saying that an aircraft is one of the cleanest places you could ever be. The air inside is filtered through operating surgery grade filters at a rate of the whole cubic footage every 3 minutes. I never realised how clean the air was.How do you feel about the flight itself, that would be my only concern.
Same as I don't mind being in a spacious aired out cafe or pub but don't want to go to the cinema.
Possibly, I think some airlines will be better than others, I know someone who works for one and they said even at the end of the day the plane is never fully cleaned. Some airlines operate at such low margins they haven’t got room to spend extra on more cleaning.I watched something about this concern the other day and it was saying that an aircraft is one of the cleanest places you could ever be. It was thank you Mark, and as a result I tried to get on online quote for Travel Insurance as we don't have any. Unfortunately the All Clear site is going round in circles and won't continue after answering all the Qs (quite sensible ones!) about my husband's COPD. Haven't had a chance to even start on mine yet!
I'll try again tomorrow. If we can get insurance at a reasonable price (which with COPD, Diabetes/Higher BP/ Hypothyroid/PAD, isn't usually likely) then we'll have it cos otherwise it's a straight choice whether we risk the whole price of the holiday and chance CV19 not causing it to be cancelled. Or us getting it! LOL
Changes to the exemption for people returning from Spain will take effect from midnight tonight, meaning anyone returning from midnight tonight will have to self-isolate.The Joint Biosecurity Centre together with Public Health England have updated their coronavirus assessments of Spain based on the latest data. As a result, Spain has been removed from the lists of countries from which passengers arriving in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are exempted from the need to self-isolate.
Protecting public health is our absolute priority and we have taken this decision to limit any potential spread to the UK.
We’ve always been clear that we would act immediately to remove a country where necessary. Both our list of quarantine exemptions and the FCO travel advice are being updated to reflect these latest risk assessments.
all very annoying, and with big implications for those with pre existing conditions who will need to buy comprehensive health insurance alongside travel insurance for travel to the eu from next year.@atoll - again I don't wish to 'Like' your post - but I do wish to thank you for telling me!
I'm just going to wait and see what happens FTB - and see if the travel company start sending stroppy letters for our money - out of all of us, only we two are retired, however lots of the younger adults have jobs, sooooooo .....
