Since being diagnosed t1 and put on insulin on February 14th 2017 where my bg was high up to 30 I now average at about 5-7 m/mol but since bg has been more controlled I have had a lot of acne on my back and shoulders.. Does anybody know what the cause of this is? And what can be done to treat this? Is it what I am eating? Or is it a side effect of insulin? Any helpful comments that will enlighten me would be great.. Many thanks in advance

What kind of things are you eating? I wouldn't say it was a side effect of insulin, since I started my skin is much clearer in fact, could just be coincidence x

I'm not sure of an exact answer to this, but i can speak from personal experience. I always had clear skin even as a teenager (i'm 35 now) I developed cystic acne roughly 5 years ago, i couldn't work out why, i was told,
the better control i had would be better for my skin ( But skin is on a time lag so for example if bloodsugars had been running high for a while that could show up on my skin for months after before getting better) i also wondered about insulin, i started on a pump with novo rapid at the same time my acne started (i was previously on actrapid) could be coincidence or maybe me switching insulins set it off or i am sensitive to it. Just speculation really but it did make me wonder, i was planning on asking my consultant about this in march and maybe test the theory by trying a different insulin. not really an answer i know, but i have had the same thoughts as you
