So in this case I just streamed & watched the Terminator; Dark fate film. The character Grace a cybernetic augmentation from the future to save a life in the past, uses insulin (along with another concoction of drugs) to “stay alive” & regenerate as a “terminator human cross breed?” (Hybrid.) The focus seems to be on the insulin. The charactor is portrayed as a “super human.” Wanted a terminator franchise tail. & thought bullcrap, insulin abuse in the body building cheat sector.

I found myself watching one of those real life ambulance programmes the other day, I forget which one it was, on channel 5 I think. They were called out to a man who had collapsed, and it turned out that he had type 1 diabetes and was having a hypo. Obviously everything that the paramedics said to camera was correct, they know what they are doing, but then the voiceover piped up with “as a diabetic, the man must take insulin every day to prevent his blood sugars DROPPING to dangerous levels.” Sigh, is it really so difficult to check their facts? They could have said that he takes the insulin to keep his levels under control if they can’t remember which way it goes!

The Sarah Conner character in the film did just that at one point in the plot. After they robbed a chemist. Lol, she was asked how did she know how much to give? “I dunno. Just guessed.” The hero was running around fighting bad guys with 2 pre-filled large plastic syringes in her pocket. Even lost & retrieved them at one point?

The Grace character in Terminator seemed to need regular fixes of insulin or she’d run out of steam with the human/cyborg super strength? (Literally getting quite woozy.)

lol, I’m guessing time travel screws with either the pancreas or insulin sensitivity? There’s an explanation regarding her stamina. But about 2.20 in is a list of what she needs. I forgot she seemed to want to drink water too? Rolls eyes indeed.

It reminds me that people are only ever showing using inhalers in films if something's bad's going to happen to them - like when Rebecca De Mornay deliberately empties all of Annabella Sciorra's inhalers in the 'yuppies in peril' film 'The Hand That Rocks the Cradle'.

I know this film. Saw it. Then had an appointment with the GP a day or so later? Walked in & there was a “Locum” who looked just like Mrs Mott. Even down to the professional clothing? No joke.

I used to love watching those 'yuppies in peril' films in the late 80s / early 90s! I like arranging my shopping in a 'Sleeping with the Enemy' style.

Yes, and goes all sweaty and hypo-like when "he can't take his shot".

Rather than just getting a bit grumpy and thirsty.

Insulin references in TV and film (and media generally) is almost always bungled. And as @Sally71 says, it's so easy to check.

Must admit I am a bit bemused by the idea that blockbuster movies should be accurate when it comes to medication. What about the other 99% of the movie? If you applied the idea that everything should be technically accurate to it and there would be nothing left!😎

I’m just bemused by a plot where a battle damaged humanoid “Android” character is needing meds, when a trip to RadioShack might have made more sense? 😉

If you have specialist knowledge on just about any subject you will find glaring errors in all kinds of places. Many years ago I practiced karate, representations of martial arts on TV and in movies can be hilarious. Having said that, the arrival of the Bruce Lee movies did force everyone else to raise their game a bit.

If you look up any film on IMDb it will have a great long list of goofs, can be quite an entertaining read! Although the continuity errors get a bit tedious, there seem to be more of those than anything else.
