Does instant coffee have any effect on your blood glucose levels.

Not for me. I make mine with some cream and sweetener in the morning , a drop of milk and sweetener at other times.

As with anything it depends. If it is decaf then almost certainly not. If it is strong caffeinated and made entirely with skimmed milk then probably.
Caffeine is a stimulant and therefore has the ability to encourage the liver to trickle out more glucose. So whilst it doesn't contain any carbs it can still raise your BG. If you regularly drink one cup then this effect will diminish. If you have 2 or 3 cups when you normally just have one then it may well have more of an effect on your levels even if you drink it black and without sugar.... ie no other carbs.
Milk contains lactose which is a sugar. The less fat the milk contains the higher the percentage of lactose, which is why many of us use cream in our coffee instead of milk, as it has almost no lactose.... and tastes gorgeous... or at least whole milk rather than skimmed.

Ok thanks, that's good to know, I use alpro almond no sugars instead of regular milk.

Machine coffee full fat milk sweetener makes no difference to my BG I need 2 every morning to get started.

Yes I forgot to mention due to lactose intolerance, I use Lactofree full fat milk and Lactofree cream

No, nor ‘proper’ coffee either. If I’m having a latte or similar, I just bolus for the milk carbs if needed. Love my coffee! 🙂

Not that I’ve noticed. I get a bit of a bump with cafe/coffee shop coffee sometimes, but not really reliably so.

I use decaf coffee not caffeinated and find it has no impact on my blood sugars
