In celebration of our Wedding Anniversary (which coincidentally is the Spring NASCAR race in Las Vegas) we spent last weekend in Las Vegas having some fun & watching some motor racing in the NASCAR Stock Car Racing Series.... While we have our favorite drivers for the main Cup series, the next series down, XFINITY, is more of a mystery in terms of the drivers....

One young man caught our eye, Ryan Reed, the driver of the number 16 Ford Mustang. Ryan is becoming a force to be reckoned with despite only being in his 4th year at this level of racing and being a T1 Diabetic. Ryan was diagnosed when he was 17, at the start of his career as a major league racing driver; the doctors advised that he would never be able to race again... Of course D's will always follow medical advice.....

Since this article was written Ryan's career has just taken off....

Good for him! always think how boring it must be, going round and round the same oval all the while.

Well done to him - a great example of someone with T1 in professional sport. 🙂 (I have heard of him although we don't get to hear much about NASCAR racing over here.)
