I've gotten into the bad habit of only injecting in my legs. I find injecting into my stomach really painful and injecting in my bottom very awkward. Is this just me!?

I usually inject in my bottom, just pull the waistband down and stab it in randomly, no need to 'pinch up', but I am fortunate to usually be in the privacy of my own home when I need to do it. I only inject in my stomach/belly when out and about, and I think it does tend to hurt more when you don't normally inject there. I don't have any fatty areas on my legs so never inject there.

What about your needles sianee? What length are they? Perhaps changing the length would help?

I have plenty of fatty areas 🙂 I use the microdot 4mm needles, I was on 8mm when I was first diagnosed but my DSN changed them because I wasn't getting on with them. As I'm home all the time I can inject anywhere I choose to really but I tend to go straight for my thighs because it's the least painful spot. I sometimes find that I get irritated injection sites no matter where I inject but my doctor told me that normal :/

I've never managed to find a comfortable way to inject in the bottom, so I've given up on that. If find the injections most comfortable just above the waist line because I can encourage more flesh by trapping it between my vest and the waist of my trousers. Can't do a thigh, not enough padding and too much bleeding. To be honest though I'm always full of bruises and little welts, and I've demonstrated my technique to the consultant and the nurse and they say it's perfect, so I'm obviously just a bit sensitive. They did suggest trying even finer needles so maybe that's worth a try if there is such a thing?
