What size are you all using I was on 8 when first got diabetes 7 years go was on 6mm for few years now on 4mm these so much better

I too was on 8mm at first, now on 5mm with the intention of requesting 4mm next!

The 8's now look like javelins, although the size of hasn't made any difference to the amount of bleeding/bruising :(

Yes get the 4mm really te 4mm for me seem to be lot better bruise or bleed anymore which is very good

I recently changed from 8mm to 5mm and find them much better. Far less bruising and no bleeding so far.

Careful now, get them too short and you wont be able to inj through clothing. 0.25 x 5mm is about right.

I've never injected through any clothing, not even tights. I know its possible, but I prefer to inject straight into skin/fat. But thats just me. I think that when you find something that works for you, stick with it.

clothing ive never injected throigh clothing ?

I've had to inject in public on occasion, jabbing through my clothes is far more discrete than hoicking up my skirt or T-shirt.

Yeah some have different ways I injected in tummy during day and night time injection in legs

In 1966 they had pannel pins for us !!! I AM NOT JOKING ! 😱

Glass syringes you had to boil ou in a saucepan, needles the thickness of panel pins as Hobie said. 13mm long ISTR Hobie?

Nirvana now for some of us!

My son, 15 on diagnosis, now 17, went straight onto 4mm. Our massive prescription list from the hospital to our GP had him issued with 8mm, 6mm and 4mm, but needless to say the longer ones have just sat in his box of 'spares'. He gets on fine with 4mm.

I am on 8mm needles, and although I am well built and have some gut and man boobage, at times I feel they might be too long for some localized areas, but the majority of my bod can fair well with the 8mm, so I am happy.......:D

I have always used 5mm needles.

I use 4mm needles, have done since they were first released. Started on 6mm ones and bruised on nearly every injection.
