What a stupid ****** this man was. For goodness sake, it was a coffee house, not a crack house🙄

I like to do my injection discreetly, I'm not one to just 'expose' my medical conditions, to the general public, but that's just me, I'm not ashamed of the big D, I'm just a little more private. Hats off to others who just go for it🙂
Good on you for still doing what you want to do. Best wishes Sheena

Never bothers me. I always think that anyone who uses the 'junkie' accusation when you are injecting in a public place is clearly missing the point that junkies would most likely NOT want to inject in public, since it is illegal! 🙄 I was on a busy train the other day and needed to inject so I could eat. I certainly couldn't get up and go off somewhere 'private' and expect to still have my seat waiting for me, so I just went ahead - I was hungry! 🙂 Although, I was on a different busy train a couple of weeks ago and a 'City' type older bloke sat next to me. I started getting my pen out and testing my blood and he got up and moved up the carriage!

When you think of what people in some parts of the world have to put up with, some people here are so selfish and up themselves, judging and thinking only of themselves (not that you are doing them any harm whatsoever) Grrrr!!! 😡

Glad to hear the other bloke was asked to leave! 🙂

Thanks S, I use to be very private with it too , and run off to the toilet etc while out to inject until my D nurse went mad at me , and gave me the confidence to inject while sat at tables in cafes/pubs etc , I still try to inject with no one seeing and the more you do the better you feel about it ,

I tend to just go for it as Sheena says and have never had so muhc as a funny look. Just a matter of luck whether you get someone nearby who's a bit vocal I suppose.

I never really thought about injecting in public... can i ask, where do you all inject? not sure i'd want to get my stomach out and think pulling my trousers down to inject my thigh might cause more than a few stares!! 🙂

I find it easiest to inject in my belly when out, just lift my shirt or jumper for a couple of seconds. Depends on what you are wearing of course! Some people can inject in their upper arm and some inject through their clothes, although I've never tried either. 🙂

Done all 3 ! :D

Usually abdomen but will do arm through clothing if necessary (eg. long sleeved shirt) and have done thigh through jeans but reserve thighs for lantus now so not normally a prob.

If I'm in the car and need to use thighs, I will find a quiet corner of a car park and slip trousers down. Haven't been caught out yet but almost was on a quiet backstreet a few weeks ago ! 😱

Needs must 🙄

I never hide away in the loo. I usually inject while sitting at a table and try to position myself so that I am not in full view of everyone. If it is summer time and I am wearing a skirt I just hitch up my skirt under the table and inject into my thigh. If I am wearing trousers I pop it in around waistband level. I don't think anyone ever notices or cares and I have never received any comments. If I did I'm afraid they would get a lecture on how wonderful my drug was at keeping me healthy and how lucky they flipping well were not to have to inject themselves.😉

Lol now that's a thread to start - how many times have you been caught with your trousers down! :D

When I was injecting it never bothered me, even when i finger prick now i just go for it and dont even give it a second thought.

Don't go there ! 😱

I'll be injecting lantus en route tomorrow actually. Probably somewhere in a dark corner of a services along the A55. Both ways. In the dark, no-one can hear you click (solostar 🙄).

I just get on with it and if someone takes an interest, I'd explain it then. But there's no avoiding it and I'm not going to wear a skirt to make it easier. Not in this weather anyway 😱

I've got the script half-finished already. 😉

I'll be played by Johnny Depp I should think. 🙄

Northie, I think your City gent was right - if he had a problem, it was up to him to move, which he did. Not bring his phobia down on you! - which is what that girl at school is doing to MM's daughter. I know they are young but they are teenagers now, not toddlers.

End of lecture but it makes me absolutely incandescently mad because I've had it done to me at work and finished up having a mental breakdown through it.

Oh blimey you guys and gals really make me laugh!! I can't believe how things have changed either, years ago I got a rocket from my nurse for injecting through my jeans as she said I could give myself blood poisoning!! Actually when I think back to the state of my 'originals' she had a fair point lol I have always hidden the fact that I inject and always make sure that I hide it just in case someone has a real aversion to needles. Maybe I should just flop out the syringe and see what comments I get lol I also jump to explain that I am diabetic and not a junkie when someone spots a syringe and now I don't know why I do it! I find that, being a flabby git round the middle, it is so much easier and mostly painless injecting into my ample spare tyre but I still find it quite painful injecting into thighs and especially upper arm, does anyone else have this problem. I am looking forward to going out tomorrow and just whipping it out regardeless rofl

Don't have a problem injecting in public, had a few stares but no one has dared speak out.

I've never had any problems injecting in public, my friends are always on guard of someone does say anything though 🙂

Lady will - I some times have a problem when going into my top legs to , sometimes hurts , dont have a problem in arms or belly ,

let us now how you get on while in town an get your needle pen out lol
