Information for type 1 and pump

Libre is only authorised for use on your arm, but people do successfully use it on other parts of the body. (@nonethewiser uses Dexcom I believe, which can be used on other parts of the body) The things to consider are that Abbott won't guarantee it's use on other sites and you might need to finger prick for driving because Libre is being used in a non-approved site. It might be worth experimenting though when you are getting such poor results though.
Ok thank you Barbara I shall try anything to try and help many thanks

Thank you I was told I could only use sensor on arm and pod needed to be near as I had sensor on arm and pod on tummy and it wouldn’t register . I hate wearing pod on the arm so when I change my sensor if I can out it on my tummy I shall move both to that site as I’ve always worn pump there . Didn’t even think of doing that thank you

Obviously I'm using Dexcom so have no issues with both pod & sensor communicating with each other.

There has been posts before about Libre 2 plus & Omnipod 5 not connecting when not in close proximity of each other, if at all possible & provided your clinic funds them why don't you try switching to Dexcom G6.

@Kimbo10 I am only new on Omnipod 5 myself, was the dash before (loved that, loads better than MDI) 65-70%ish TIR, less hypos, more control than MDI, best I have felt in years.
Also on the libre 2 plus.

My move onto this has been okay, its only a few weeks in, some days are great and I don't think about my diabetes until I eat or exercise, other days not so good, I've had a few faults and pods not connect to libre. Now I know how to use my phone app as the back up with the PDM I at least have stopped needing to finger test as a much when they don't connect. My average TIR in the 6 weeks is the same as before, I am 1% improved in each level, still hypos, less but worse more stubborn than before.
I have been told different things by insulet, in terms of sites. I can no longer use my stomach which was a site I enjoyed using, and my leg / thigh isn't the best connection either now, so limited sites.

With everything else I am tweaking the PDM settings using DAFNE and my DSN's help, and I am giving it a good go. As others have said go back to basics. It does seem odd your team are happy with your settings and your TIR is at that level, and you are up and down. There must be something you can alter?

Do you also use your sides @PhoebeC

If not worth a try, even moving slightly round to back area is fine & not to uncomfortable.

I’ve started using my back, I’ve not got a lot of flesh there, so it only gives me one site either side, same with my sides.

I’ve gone back to rugby too so my buttocks will be needed for matches days only, so much planning with my sites now.

My DSN will recommend to the consultant that I go onto the dexcom 6 but he said this can be a wait, so we will see. I hope this helps, I’ve heard good things. It’s all change for me at the moment.

Really like G6, not had any issues with device so far, only downside is warm up time being 2 hours, sure G7 is going to compatible soon with G7 in UK which only takes 30mins to warm up, that would be a lot better.

I don’t mind the odd finger test now while the libre warms up, so thats alright.
