In the Garden

I have five small cucumbers, not ready for picking yet and six yellow flowers so more cucumbers to follow.
I also noticed there's eleven tomatoes on the tomato plant. They should grow fairly large but not as large as beef tomatoes.

Floris has hit us today. Very, very gusty winds. One outdoor tomato plant down, and my huge courgette plant looks a bit “loose” and wobbly. To be honest, I’ve more courgettes than you could shake a stick at! Luckily, I popped into the greenhouse and garden before Floris got really wild and picked these. I’ve made a huge pan of ratatouille and two jars of tomato sauce, for pasta etc. First time water bathing.
I’ve only used the biggest courgette, still got the others! 😳

I love ratatouille but other half hates it yet likes all the individual ingredients just not all together. The only time I got away with making it for myself was when he was in hospital.

I love it. Mr Eggy pretends he’s not keen but he loves it really. 😉 First time making it with fresh tomatoes, usually use tinned. It’s got a lovely intense sweet flavour I was asked if I’d added sugar to it.

If I even suggest it or try to disguise it I am quoted the bit about Kreplatch from The Thousand Deaths of Mr Small.

I have literally only ever enjoyed marrow once in my whole life. Vegetarian recipe stuffed marrow. Both myself and another friend I grew up with said our mothers served it up with so much water, it was just tasteless mush. Whereas, this version was absolutely not!

We picked a load of crab apples from the tree at the allotment and I put a big pot on to cook them or a fraction of them, to get the juice for a base which I use for marmalade. Unfortunately I got distracted and the pot boiled over all over the cooker, floor and into the drawers under the hob. What a mess, luckily it didn't burn.
Why does one job often end up being 2 or more.
