I have had another stroke by the seem of things. Carb help needed. A bowl of leek and potato soup? Rough estimate please. I don't eat soup much at home.x
Sympathies. My stroke affected my right arm. Made it shake. I’m right-handed and thought the kitchen staff were having a laugh at my expense when they served garden peas with my dinner. Chasing them around the plate was interesting.

Yesterday

Ok an update and then I am having a rest. Had doplar of arteries in neck. Normal.

MRI to follow as outpatient.

Going home this afternoon to Helens.
She has no stairs.

I have a commode for in the night, a perching stool and a stick to make it possible to walk. My life has changed for the moment.

Various occupational help will be put in place.

I think this year has a lot to answer for.

Thank you all for your love and concern. You are welcome to text and messageI am tired and will need all my energy to manage the stick and this latest new normal.xx

Today

Hello everyone. I am doing ok. I think it is very hard for my family to see how I am struggling now and I feel sad about that.

My MRI is next Wednesday afternoon.

I am finding that I get dizzy at times and get brain fog and huge tiredness. I am happy to get all your messages but please excuse me from replying individually as I am reserving energy for my brain to recover. Having had a stroke 10 years ago I know this is so important. It is the brain signal to my right side which has been damaged rather than a problem with my leg directly.

I will update everyone here and thank you all for understanding xxx

Thanks for the update.
So pleased to hear you are out of hospital. Take it slow and steady and hopefully you will make good progress.
Sending lots of love.

Oh no!! so sorry I missed this @Flutterby

Thanks so much for the update, and please don’t worry about replying individually - focus on preserving energy and getting well

Hope you aren’t feeling too grim. Best wishes for a speedy recovery (((((hugs))))

Update. I was only kept in one night to ensure my neuro signs did not further deteriorate. It was not possible to arrange an MRI scan and nothing had shown up on the CT apart from something on the right hand side of my brain which could be evidence that the weird ankle problem a few years back was indeed another stroke. So I was allowed home and got my MRI just over 2 weeks ago as an outpatient. It still has not been reported on but it is being treated as a stroke, my 3rd in 10 years.

My leg and therefore my walking has improved so I can get about with a stick or wheeled walker. I am suffering from fatigue and have to take frequent rests. I am attempting to process all this. Thank you all for your concern.x

Good to hear that you are making progress with your mobility. Hope the MRI scan doesn't highlight any other problems and you continue to get better. Take care.

Get better soon, hope it wasn’t a bad one !

Thank you, it's clearly a full stroke rather than a TIA as the impact is ongoing. It left me unable to walk unaided and unable to write my name. Could have been worse. It is horrible to see some other people in the ward and how it has affected them.

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear this. Wishing you all the best

My thoughts go out to you, I had a little on the beginning of the year, my neurologist said it was a little warning shot, after some tests and an MRI I had some damage from a previous event and a little area that looked like it had caused the “stroke” I couldn’t write email at work was my symptom so nothing like yours, Best of luck with your recovery, sounds like your in the right place anyway.

Thinking of you @Flutterby
Keep us posted when you are able to.

Your post made me smile thank you. Mine has affected my right side, mainly my leg this time. 10 years ago it affected my right hand very badly and I struggled to chase food round.x
