Can't help it....

For a German Shepherd owner to have their dog called an Alsation, is deemed a major insult, you'd be hung drawn and quartered on a GSD forum😱

Sadly I didn't get to watch it... Is it available on iplayer do you know

Actually, "Alsatian" is more correct, since Alsace hasn't been a German territory since World War I. 😛 To be absolutely correct, you should call them "French Shepherd dogs". 😉

Err

Nope you'll wrong Rob, the German Shepherd is a creation of Capt. Max von Stephanitz, He started the breed from a Verein fur deutsche Schaferhunde called Hektor Linksrhein that he brought in 1899 and it's this dog, the breed was developed from..

But that's a argument for another day...

Back to the program...

Very good indeed, more so has I feel how they portrayed Steven's condition, by introducing him with his brother playing football in the back garden, and saying one of these boy's has a life threatening medical condition... Then explaining it more before telling which lad it was...

The Cancer research is interesting indeed, as said I doubt if dogs will be used to detect, but the information they provide might just give us the information and understanding that we need to develop a machine that can detect early stages cheaply etc..

For those that are not aware of the history of the name it's well described here, (I believe): http://www.wagsdogclub.com/Community/articles/alsatian_is_a_gsd.htm.

However I have always called them Alsatians, mainly because its shorter than German Shepherd Dog and as even though I have long since stopped showing dogs I know that a lot of people will not know what a GSD is!

I shall henceforth call the Royal family the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha's or is that wrong because Prince Philip is Greek. Hayho. lifes too short for this type of discussion.

Actually, Philip's surname should be Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Gl?cksburg but he took his uncle's angelized name Mountbatten instead (von Battenberg)

Too many carbs in a Battenberg aren't there😛
