Last night, after my evening meal (a chicken curry and rice) I had THREE Wispa bars 😱 I just couldn't stop at one, or two...😱 Managed to keep levels reasonable, but even so! Clearly, Wispas rank alongside Jaffa cakes as things that cannot be left lying around 😱

What is on your 'forbidden' list? Spill the beans! Admit your shame! 😉

Was that part of your carb and insulin free day? 😱

I don't have a forbidden list. If I fancy something - well - naughty - I eat it and then tailor my other intakes around it. May have to adjust the insulin a bit but it's like give and take.

I 'pinched' 2 funsize Wispas from my son's stash but they fortunately didn't appear to hike up my levels too badly. I rather suspect 2/3 bars would have pushed me into stratosphere!😱

Glad you enjoyed them though Northerner...we all need to be a bit 'reckless' sometimes if it can be managed.

Since dx I've developed a craving for ice cream and rice pudding, both of which didn't seem to bother me before

Jaffa cakes and Cadbury's chocolate fingers, the latter is weird because I don't like biscuits and I don't really like milk chocolate but for some unknown reason they're like catnip to me, can't have the things near me, oh and Mr Kipling French fancies, again bizarre because don't like icing at all, and here's the weirdest bit it's the yellow ones, I can resist the pink but not the yellow ones. They're banned in my house, can't even look at them.

I haven't slipped since diagnosis yet, but I once ate a box of French fancies (they were white ones for Christmas), vomited from the combined toxicity of French fancies and red wine, and my partner at the time had to take the other box of fancies out of the house for fear of more vomiting. He was quite overcome since I don't think he'd ever seen me so enthusiastic about food 😱 pretty sure I'd have fought to the death for those white sickly Devils. I think I cried when he wouldn't tell me where he'd put them, but that might have been the wine 😉. Im still surprised it didn't end well, I mean who wouldn't want a vomiting crying psychopath for a life partner...some people are so picky 🙂

Love it KC :D Battenburg is the cake which must not be purchased, principally due to the marzipan content. Pre-diagnosis I would happily buy and consume slabs of marzipan intended for the bedecking of many Christmas cakes, but for which the cake part was an irrelevance 😱 Hey - it's made of nuts, isn't it? So that's fine, eh? 🙂

What made you stop at 3 Northerner? Were there only that many in the packet?😉

Jaffa Cakes are my thing, just how am I supposed to resist 8.6g of carbohydrate happiness, I can't settle if I know there is a packet in the cupboard. Coming a close 2nd are chocolate cornflake cakes or mini bites as M&S calls them. I don't want a mini bite I want a great big bite 😉

Now that's done it, I'm going to have to have a look at what's in the cupboard....

Yes, only 3 in the packet! 😱 I may have to do some penance and get some (cardboard) crispbreads...

LiDL do some lovely sesame-seed crispbreads (Sesam-Knäckbrot). I don't know what carb value they are, but they're delicious. 🙂

I'm safe with marzipan, can't really do it reminds me too much of icing :(. Although I probably shouldn't tell you this but M&S do a marzipan chocolate bar, all dark chocolate and gooey almond loveliness....te hee

Cornflake cakes, oh god I loved those when I was a kid, with Cadbury's mini Eggs in at Easter...didn't like the mini eggs but loved the nest. Round these parts though it was traditional to add syrup to the chocolate, utterly vile so I learned very quickly to only eat my mother's cornflake cakes or rice crispie cakes...yum!

Ohhh, cornflake cakes or indeed rice krispie ones, but they aren't really that close to perfection, whereas cornflake ones are.

Safeway used to sell them. sort of flat and round, marked in 8 portions.

How stupid of them! Anyone could have told them it was a one portion thing, couldn't they?

Chocolate for me - especially Cadbury's Dairy Milk or anything made of it. Heaven.. Then add to that doughnuts, biscuits, cakes... Anything bad for you really. I'm terrible, I do eat some fruit and veg but only because I have to!

Unfortunately daughter seems to have inherited my sweet tooth :(

Hope you enjoyed your indulgence Alan. Glad there were no serious after-effects. I have never eaten chocolate as I am allergic to cocoa. I also did not eat cakes or biscuits, so it was not overindulgence that gave me this disorder. All the rest of the family love chocolate and I buy it for them but have no idea what is nice 🙂

Mines butterscotch angel delight, it's a addiction! although I do buy the reduced sugar one when I can. For 36p how can I resist! 🙂 and wham bars if I'm feeling particularly naughty 🙂

How sad am I. Hubby opened a packet of digestive biscuits yesterday - they had been in the cupboard for months - and then promptly disappeared to do some gardening. Even with a bound up hand managed to get the plastic bag off the top and ate about 8!!! Would have been more if he hadn't have asked for a cuppa and I didn't want to get caught!
What's 117 gms carbs between friends? Brain completely forgpt about it till dinner when reading was 17.4 and I wondered why. Put it down to belated stress reaction to operation!
When I think I could have had a Cadburys creme egg for that - or possibly 2 - what a wasted opportunity. But then they were not in the house - open - saying "eat me" and no-one will know.

Oops! You're only human 😱 🙂 Interestingly, I have some chocolate digestives in an airtight container that must have been there for at least a year, but haven't been tempted by them at all!

Cheese & biscuits, and any decent bread. Why is this an indulgance??

Life is so unfair (I bet everyone thinks that!!)

I LOVE crisps !! Forget about the chocolate and all the sweet stuff - I love my crisps. !!!!
