Taken a bit of a knock back with my swimming; for 2-3 weeks I didn't use any arm-discs but for some reason I've become scared of the water 😱 but never fear I shall overcome it and be swimming like a fish.....in about 5 years :D

Booked for next term so can take things easy.....

These things can happen from time to time, but once you know how to swim it will never desert you so try not to be scared. What do you think made you scared this time, were you being asked to do something you were not confident about?

Good luck with swimmin ! You sound like a possitive person ! Keep at it & may be the channel !

I'm not sure; I think its psychological like a lot of things...I slipped last week and my head went under the water; scared myself a little so I think that could be it, but I'm going to persevere....onwards and upwards....

Was talking about this the other day. I'm not scared of the water per se, I know I can float, and doggy paddle. And I do both when presented with a body of water, a suitable temperature and the right clothing. But I utterly loathe water in my eyes - and if it goes up my nose you can just forget the whole shooting match.

Nice flat swimming pool - Yes! 🙂

Wave machine? - Nooooooooooooooooo 😱

We all get scared of things but we persevere and over come them. I'm sure once you get the hang of it, swimming will be a doddle.

One of the hardest things I ever did was to go all the way up to Manchester from London for a wedding on my own and stay in a strange hotel room by myself. I have a fear of strange places on my own. I know now that however unfamiliar a place is, I can cope with it and will be able to tell others about it afterwards.

Ah, face under water - not nice when it happens accidentally, but OK if you do it on purpose. Do try that when you're ready 🙂

I'm sorry that this happened to you but glad you're determined to get back in the water. I'm not very good at swimming but absolutely love it. My idea of a perfect start to a day is being able to stay in a hotl with a pool so that I can swim before breadkfast:D

I'm sure you being you Amanda, with that resolve, will soon be back in the water, scared or not. Thats the secret though, face your fear and it will go, isn't it?

You have done so well, just a blip, onwards and upwards:D
