thanks for everyone's help. I had a good blood sugar this morning i'm aiming for 7 but had 8.1 so that's really good for me. At least no hypos today aswell.
Yes at night one injection. I've discussed this with my nurse before but I don't really want to do 5 injections a day 4 is bad enough lol. But thank you for the suggestion and your help x
Glad to hear things seem to be slightly improving @Ditsy daisy
If you only want to take one basal injection then an alternative might be to take it in the morning (I had to do this when I was on MDI and it was someone on a forum who suggested it to me after decades of attending diabetes clinics!).
Levemir generally only lasts 12-16 hours, so I suspect part of your difficulty with carb counting is that your meal doses later in the day have been partly taken up covering your basal needs as your levemir starts to fade?
Another alternative would be to try Toujeo or Tresiba which are generally thought to last longer than 24 hours in the body which might give you a more ‘stable’ platform to try adjusting your reduced carb meal doses.
Good luck with the weight loss! 🙂
