Hi there, I'm a Newbie to this type of forum (of any sort). I'm a 72 year old widow and Type 2 for 15 years. Started with diet then progressed through tablets (Metformin and Glicazide now on slow release Metformin) then on to Insulin (Humalin I, Humalog) and also Victoza. In addition I have an underactive thyroid (Levothyroxine), hyperparathyroid (Stexerol-D), diabetic neuropathy (Gabapentin), high blood pressure, high cholesterol (both under control with Atenolol, Candesartan and Atorvastatin), over active bladder (Detrusitol). Following PEs 18 months ago I am now on anti-coagulants for life and recently a blood test showed I am slightly anaemic so on Iron tablets. I also have arthritis and walk with crutches so I'm a bit of a mess really. Children are sympathetic but as far as the Diabetes is concerned they are not a great help and I don't have a lot of will power so it would be great to have some positive thoughts from others who might be in the same position as me.
