The X-pert Type 2 Diabetes course suggests 15 average grapes as a 'Carb Portion' that should raise the average T2s bgs by 1. And of course Red Grapes because of the resveratrol in the skin.
I'm waiting to hear about my online course, no doubt will learn more then.

Hi, I did a Desmond online course. Much of the same information can be found on this site in the learning zone, so depending on how long you have to wait for your course, you could get a head start.

My understanding is that you can self-refer for a Desmond Course, so no need to wait for someone else to set you up. I certainly looked at this during lockdown in 2020 without someone giving me a referral.

I enquired a year as so ago as somebody here had asked, when I was still able to access their system and they said it needed a referral and not all health authorities are subscribed to it.

Post pandemic I had my access removed because my Health Authority are not subscribed to it.

My access suddenly disappeared after 2 years even though they sent something asking if I wanted to continue. It was useful as I was able to point people to this forum when they were struggling and often under some serious misconceptions because of poor advice or no advice from their GP.

I had a very brief look this morning and from a Google search opened a page that stated self-referral existed. BUT I realise these pages get out of date so that could be the case from my fleeting search.

If you are remembering/quoting that correctly then I would have little faith in the X-pert course.

A carb portion is generally considered to be 10g carbs and is generally considered to raise your BG levels by 3mmols not 1mmol. Added to that 15 average sized grapes would be over 20g carbs unless they were very sour, probably nearer 30g.... ie approx 1.5-2g carbs per grape, so would raise your BG by between 6 and 9 mmols.
