Morning all... Notice how I do not say GOOD morning!

Still in hospital and have not slept all night!!! I was starving for most of the night and I have now had "breakfast" but am still hungry. My levels have been fine all night but I'm curious to know what they will be now I have eaten!! I have begged my other half to bring me some proper food before I die of starvation!!! Hopefully will get to go home today, haven't heard anything though. I had a chest x ray last night at 3.40!!! But don't know if that was good or bad!!!

I really just want to go home, eat and sleep! I have until Monday to get better!!!

I hope you get some answers today. The hospital wouldn't have kept you in in they thought there was no problem. It sounds like they are trying to figure out what is causing your high sugars, so they can get you some treatment for it.

I know you are due back at work on Monday - but if you are not well, you are not well. If you can leave the ward (not sure if you are still on the drip), then why not get yourself a book to read or a quiz book, word search - something like that to occupy your time.

I am indeed still on my drip. My OH use bringing my book in and stuff, I will be fine once he gets here to amuse me 🙂

I am still on my drip... They are now having a hissy fit because I am taking my penicillin. As the hospital doc has not prescribed it!! Even though when I git here I asked if I could keep taking it a d they said yes. They have also taken my contraceptive pill away from me... I'm getting really annoyed!!!

Sorry it's all so frustrating, and staff should have explained better. One possible explanation for removing oral contraceptive pills is that you can't rely on contraception from pills when taking antibiotics nor for the rest of the cycle, as antibiotics sometimes cause diarrhoea, or at least more rapid transit of food through your gut.

What's in your drip? Any antibiotics being given intravenously?

In many hospitals, volunteers or newsagents staff bring a trolley round each day with items to buy - worth asking patients in nearby beds, as they'll know the system.

I hope you are better soon, but do take the time you need to mend properly. It's rotten being ill and especially if you have to go to hospital too.

Hope things have improved as the day has progressed and that you are starting to feel a bit brighter.

How are you getting on? Do they know yet what's been causing the problems? I hope that you are beginning to feel much better and that you get out of hospital before the weekend

I hate it when they take meds away from you and don't explain why. Ask them to explain when a doctor next comes round. And ask if they have any test results back, sometimes they do and don't tell you because a lot of patients are happy just to sit there and let someone else sort it out, we are not like that and they need to know. I hope you are getting somewhere and are feeling better soon. Best wishes x

I hope things start improving for you today. Sounds like you really are going through it.

Hopefully you'll have some news on what's causing all this too.

Good luck, and wishing you a speedy recovery

I did ask, they had just swapped shifts and it seems I got the doctor who like annoying people! haha, anyways I'm not really sure what they did as I mostly just sat there moaning to my OH or I should say Better Half lol... I am at home, sugar levels seem to be okay (not under 10 but not over 20) but I'm possitive this will get better as my insulin seems to be working now and I'm not having to give myself LOOOOOADS. They gave me an injection. and I know I had insulin in my drip and saline (spelling?) don't know abut anti-biotics... My mum is coming to see me tomorrow so that should be fun. I'm just glad to be home!!

Thanks for all talling me to go to A+E I'm a person who doesn't like to waste people's time and as I felt fine I didn't really want to go, but both you and my diabetes nurse telling me to go really made me go!! Next time I will not wait so long before I go!!

Thanks again people =)

Glad to hear that you are back home - and starting to feel better.

I hate wasting peoples time and I always think what if they say theres nothing the matter, but sometimes you just have to go.

Yeah I understand that now... I was really worried that they were going to be like"Your not in a coma your fine" haha but I think that is just the paranoid side of me =P

Just caught up on this, glad you are out & levels are coming down.

I also don't like to cause a fuss - but it's better to go to A&E now so you don't get to the point of being in a coma!
