Ok. I possibly now have Myasthenia Gravis as well as my CMT. Diagnosed last week at having osteoporosis of hips. Medication reluctantly accepted for Osteoporosis.

Put on 6lbs weight in 3 months hence my HBA1c 8.2 !!!.
Ive told the DSN that if I havent lost the weight by the next appointment in 3 months I will start Insulin.

She says she understands where I am coming from after I told her I have enough on my plate at the moment and as I am not symptomatic (yet) of diabetes apart from raised HBA1c I will try and get motivated again to lose post xmas weight.

Very sorry to hear that you may have an additional problem to cope with :( Your DSN sounds very supportive, and hopefully you can get motivated to lose that weight and improve your HbA1c by the time of the next test. Winter is a hard time, I find, with the short, gloomy days, but they are now getting markedly brighter and longer as we head towards Spring, so I hope you will start to feel brighter too 🙂

Sorry to hear about your aditional problems VL:(

My Mum has Osteoperosis in her back (her spine has started to crumble, she has a bit of a 'hump' now:() and her docs have agreed that on balance to loose weight would be more dangerous than to keep the weight she has - if she were to fall with no 'padding' it could have serious consequences. Of course she proceeded to fall down the stairs just before Xmas and proove this theory correct - nothing broken 8 stitches to a head wound😱

What meds have they given you? I gather the MG is usually quite responsive to treatment, and my Mum has found the meds she takes for O do help her bone density - can't remember the name -takes it once a week and has to sit upright for a few hours I think. I can find out the name if you'd like.

Have you thought of Swimming as an exercise? Might help as your muscles will be supported and not putting too much strain on hips? My Mum swam til her spine curvature got too much - very hard too swim if you can't straighten your back, unfortunately, but before that she found a good way to keep everything moving.

As Notherner says it's hard to be motivated to do anything in January but once the days get longer you can make a plan of action!

Take care x

Thanks. swimming is out for two reasons I cannot swim and because of my weakened muscles in my arms I have difficulty getting out of the pool.

My Gp has sent of a referal for me to try hydrotherapy.

In march it would be a year since diagnosis of diabetes.

Sorry to hear that you're having to deal with more problems. It can get very challenging dealing with several health problems I hope that you find that you are able to deal with them positively. If you have down days accept them and remember that we are here to support you
