Ideas for low/no prep meals?

Hi all,

I'm currently living in a hotel for 4 nights of the week (because Liverpool Lime Street station is closed, and getting up at 5am to get to Manchester for 9am was killing me), which means my eating habits are, currently, somewhat limited.

Take breakfast: There's no fridge in the hotel bedroom, so any breakfast involving milk is out. Similarly there's no microwave, so I can't cook anything.

Lunch is a bit less of a problem, there's plenty of places around that do salads & the like, and there's always Aldi and/or Tesco just around the corner.

Dinner is also not a big deal (see the post in the Saucy! thread).

Can anyone suggest any "grab-and-go" breakfast options (in particular) which aren't carby (green carbs are OK)?
 
Are you based in an office building or the like, when in work? Could you have cool box blox frozen during the day, to keep milk/yoghurt cool enough overnight, for breakfast?

I sometime have do a round trip to Gatwick.Heathrow Airport to pick up my OH from trans-At flights, so I'll stay overnight in a Travelodge or Premier Inn the night before. As his flight often lands well before 7am, breakfast can be very early indeed. To ensure I have something, I pack a small cool bag with milk for tea/coffee in the morning, plus anything else I want when I arrive or for breakfast. It works perfectly well.

OK, you may not get through a pint of milk each morning at brekkers, but losing some milk isn't the end of the world. You could take your cool bag to work, empty, have your blocks frozen during he day, and shop in a Tesco Express, or whatever, on your way back to the hotel. My little cool bag is about 30cm x 20cm x20cm, so not all all big, and being soft, it can squidge down when not in use.

If you like them, 9 bars make quite a satisfying breakfast and are quite low in carbs.
Also you could take dried milk if you did want something with milk, not sure what though.
 
I don't know what the "Free Breakfasts" are like in that area but when I stay near my office, the standard fare (for US Hotels in that class) is some sort of "continental" breakfast usually offering Bacon, eggs, toast, cereals & most importantly coffee.... I usually stick to the bacon & eggs, along with coffee
 
Could you use a vacuum flask to keep milk cold.
