Ice Cream treats

Last year I only let JP eat mini milks or homemade lollies but i discovered today that Calypso Shots are only 4g carbs per pot so that gives him a bit more choice!

What do others do for summer treats?

Oh wow I used to love those as a kid, they were called Solero Shots then. May have to treat my self to some at some point this summer

Must admit I am partial to a Magnum in the summer months, other than that I like plain orange flavoured lollies.

I'm guessing they are no longer the huge day-long affairs of the same name I had as a kid? We used to let them melt a little first so we could drink the cold juice that had melted, then spent the rest of the day (I'm sure it was at least a day 😉) sucking the remaining flavour out of the ice. Then eating the ice. I think they used to cost 4d...😱

This flexible tubes of fromage frais or yogurt are convenient, can be eaten straight from freezer or left to defrost a bit in lunch pack, plus low CHO. I buy boxes of about 12 when reduced in price at supermarkets and place straight in freezer - nice, cheap, convenient and low CHO, what more could you want?

I found out that the little Twister ice creams are only 9g carb (or thereabouts) and YUMMY, therefore I ate one and several Mini Milks over the course of the weekend!

I'm guessing they are no longer the huge day-long affairs of the same name I had as a kid? They are 62ml each 10 to a pack and cost ?1.35 so not to big but a good flavour to the ones I have tried 🙂

If my memory serves, the "Lovely Jubblies" of my '60s childhood were somewhere between 100-200ml each (of course, back then that was probably 4-8 fl. oz.) -- but given the never-ending controversy over Wagon Wheels, with consumers claiming that they used to be huge back then but Nabisco insisting that they haven't shrunk, they only seem to have done so because people have grown bigger relative to them, it's probably impossible to say for certain unless somebody has kept an original '60s packet.

Certainly I thought they'd only survived as one of Del-Boy's catch phrases. 😉

Haha! That's brilliant, thank you! And I got the price of a frozen Jubbly spot-on at 4d! There was only one woman on our street who had a freezer compartment in her fridge so most people would buy them frozen from the shop (we didn't even have a fridge! 😱) And I reckon 8floz was about right Robert 🙂
