Hi all
Does anyone know much about the IBG STAR from a Sanofi U.S. Web site.
The innovative iBGStar? is the first blood glucose meter designed to connect directly with an Apple iPhone? or iPod touch?. Combining connectivity and accuracy, it's easy to use ? with a discreet, stylish design. With iBGStar, manage your diabetes information ? anytime, anywhere.
I am thinking of buying one, sounds great, but i think i will wait till it's been around for a while as it's just been released in uk, i believe.

I'm pretty sure one or more of our members have reviewed this on their blogs, but can't remember who for the moment! Hopefully tey will spot this and pipe up! 🙂

I was given one before the UK launch and reviewed it. It's fantastically small and the app for data is great too. Unfortunately I had to stop using it as it was giving some very odd results. Another blogger I know had a similar experience. Shame really as its a great idea

Hiya
I've got one. I wouldn't pay ?48 quid for it tho and when I use up the strips I am going back to the glucomen lx.

Pros: V diddy and small case that easily fits in your pocket. Easy to download app and very easy to update and add info.

Cons: Cant read the display in strong sunlight so need to attach to iphone/ipod. Software allows you to collect lots of data but does not display it in a meaningful way. Needs charging every couple of days. Strips are fiddly to get out of the pot and use which is a nightmare if you are full on shakin stevens.

I have also had some odd results. I can usually feel when I am high or low and have checked with my spare meter a couple of times per week when ibgstar had me v high (15+) when glucomen lx had me 6-8mmols!

I think if you were a reluctant tester into gadgets it might be good or if you were a fashoin concious teen reluctant to test in front of anyone.

Thanks for your replies
Think i will hold off on that for a while
