I was put on Toujeo straight away but I was having lots of hypos and rebounding highs. It was awful. They put me on Levemir and I immediately felt so much better. I take my Levemir when I wake up and again at 8pm. Levemir is so much more flexible. As Toujeo lasts 36 hours trying to tweak your dose is so difficult, I really struggled with it.

I really hope it works out for you! I know @mikeyB also moved onto Levemir from Lantus and found his night time hypos subsided too.

Oh no hun, hope you didn't go too low xx

Thanks, that's great to know 🙂
Hopefully it will calm down in a couple of days.

Mine took a while until all the Toujeo was definitely out of my system. Since then it's been much more predictable (well, as predictable as diabetes can be!!)

(also Levemir hurts much less to inject than Toujeo!)

Yes my DSN did say it might take a few days for Toujeo to get out of my system. I'm looking forward to losing the early am hypos as its knackering and interfering with my much needed beauty sleep lol! Also I work nights so its been a total pain. I'm looking forward to having better control, as like you were I'm sometimes high in the day, then hypo at night.

I hope you have no more hypo'swhile that other insulin is getting out of your system they're horrid bu%%#+$.

😱2.5 this time, we've decided on having McDonalds for tea, may as well take advantage of the situation 🙂
McDonalds is Definitely needed for prevention purposes 🙂.

Oh Lucy what are we going to do with you :D, that like was obviously not for the hypo part, have a Mcflurry for me please lol xx

Hope you're Ok overnight Lucy whilst it gets out your system and the Levemir kicks in. Good luck for waking level tomorrow.

I would set your alarm for a 3am test, just to be on the safe side 🙂 Hope you have no further issues 🙂

That's a good idea, I will do. I'll probably have a biscuit before bed tonight too.

You're right, it hurts much less to inject, Toujeo used too really sting!

Goodness I'm glad Tresiba doesn't sting like that haha, would be much more traumatic if it did, just saw you had a couple of hypos through the night, hope they weren't too bad and that was after taking the advantage of having a McDonald's haha, did you have that Mcflurry for me though? lol 🙂 x

Well, when went low at about 1am and when tested at 3am I was 3.6, but after that no more bother and was 7.2 on waking. Glad that's over lol! Although I feel tired today my body feels better, if you know what I mean.

Oddly enough I don't like McFlurry, find it too sweet 🙄

Toujeo is concentrated Lantus. Lantus is quite acidic which is why it hurts to inject. Concentrate that, and you get Toujeo which hurts even more!!
