Hi,

Time to admit. I succumbed ( yet again) to the siren call of an Easter Egg. A medium size CDM buttons egg, ate in one sitting. Tbh didn't feel too guilty about it. Tested after the statutory 2 hours and was given a 7.4 for my troubles. The egg was delicious. I don't normally like CDM and don't buy choccie bars. But there is something about the thin chocolate that is the egg. I am clearly hooked.

It'd be interesting to see what it is 3 hours later! When I've succumbed to a hi-carb treat, at the 2 hour mark it's usually in the sixes or low sevens, but 3 hours later right down back in the 5s.

Please don't tempt me. Although I did wonder about a 3 hour mark.

Chocolate's a weird one, as it probably digests quite slowly due to the fat and the carb release is quite slow.

I am entirely with you about milk chocolate in it's entirety - not just C's - Easter egg 'shells' are just significantly better than in any other way known ! Forget the thicker 'joiny' bit on the edge, Gimme a thin bit out of the middle please! (if you haven't got any dark choc at all to share, obviously)

I used to love the small very thin cadbury bars which were sold for 2d. Don't think you can buy them anymore, and the tuppence is showing how long ago it was (and indeed, how old I am!) Really glad you enjoyed your choccie Sharron 🙂

Thank you. I am now also indulging on watermelon... love the stuff.

I agree with you re the thicker 'joiny' bit. Wouldn't ever go near a solid bar of the same stuff. Very odd. As for sharing... forget it.

I remember those tiny thin choc bars! I think in my youth they were 3d, and then the 'normal' size was a six pence. Pocket money!

It's strange how the thickness and thinness of chocolate affects the eaters. I remember the launch of Yorkie bars, and the whole concept of 'thick choc' was created (and targetted at blokes, as I recall - specifically lorry drivers!).

I like the 'thick' bits of the Lindt Easter Bunnies - you start at the ears......

Thin choc is more dead sophisticated I think - probably because of After Eights...

Yorkie bars were thick & long also, see them in shops now & they are so small, fav bar was raisen & biscuit.

My all time fave was a dark choc, Terry's Waifa bar. Or, a bar of After Eight choc, actually two wafer thin bars of bitter dessert choc, just fab! Couldn't leave it though once I started so it might have been a very good thing for me, that they stopped making it!

Have some thick chocolaty memories…

Thanks for the ad! Alas, sedentary lorry drivers scoffing choc are not going to stay fit and handsome for long, sadly....oh dear!

But Yorkie bars are definitely a good way to eat chocolate....
