I have tried that gretchen American book but I simply can't get through all those pages !

The moseley book I have is OK but again is a bit wordy for me , does that make any sense ?

Just a bog standard diabetes , low carb or keto or whatever book with simple recipes for a single person .....breakfast , lunch , dinner

There must be something out there

Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution - I have the 2003 edition.

As in The Atkins diet ?

I am not sure I want to be doing that
Really? There are references to people beating diabetes on that way of eating, and I can't see much difference between all the low carb diets which have been devised this century and the Atkins diet - but do have a look for yourself - I am sure the book will be only pennies to buy as so many millions of them were printed.

I'm pretty sure there's a Dummies book, along the lines of Diabetes Cookbook for Dummies. 🙂

The Atkinson diet can affect your kidneys, I had a friend who was trying it. I saw the effect it was having in her kidneys, we’re both clinical Reflexologists

There is no evidence that low carb diets affect kidneys in healthy people (Unless you already have kidney problems, in which case a high protein diet can be a problem.). Dr Unwin was asked about this at a conference and went out and did some research into it as he was concerned that it might be an issue with the people he had persuaded to use low-carb to control their diabetes. He found there was no problem.

Well I know from this lady and my skill that hers were being affected. Everyone is different and have different experiences. I don’t belong everything I’m told and ideas change ‍♀️

Unfortunately it is a myth which has been repeated so often that people really do believe that there is clinical evidence.
Dr Atkins warned that those with kidney problems should not do low carb, but I think it was more to protect himself from such accusations than with any great concern about damage being inflicted.
There are a lot of people eating a low carb diet these days - where is the evidence that it results in kidney damage?
There is some anecdotal evidence claiming that lowering blood glucose improved kidney function as it stopped damage to the tubules and small blood vessels in general.

i understand we do not know the long term effect on individuals with low carb diets.
However is not diabetes left to go high not more likely to give kidney damage?

I believe they have published three, all worth having, if only for their low carb bread...
Is it really nice? I am not keen on courgette bread but better than nothing.
is this one difficult to make ? Can-you use a bread maker ?

I have ordered the 30 minute one

I’ve seen a few members recommending the Caldesi book, hope you get on well with it.

Let us know whether you find the recipes workable for you 🙂
