Hi just been reading about the i port does anyone know if they are available in the uk? struggling with painful injections at the moment sounds like a good solution, have size 4 needles at moment still painful can anyone help? thank you x

Is this available on the NHS? Could I ask my GP or DSN for this?

I really struggle with my injections, I have changed me needle sizes 4 times and every time the pain seems the same. It makes rotating sites a complete nightmare.

I only read about the 'diaport' for the frist time yesterday. Not heard about an 'iport' either.

Didn't realise there was such a thing. The one Shiv linked to does seem less 'terminator' like 😛

I Port Update

🙂hi just thought i should let you know went to see consultant today and asked about the i port or something similar and he didnt know about them, i gave him the name of the one shiv posted and he had a quick look on internet and said he would make some enquiries about it and would get back to me he also said it would probably depend on the cost:( we can only hope i am keeping my fingers crossed and will let you know of any developments. thank you to you all for your replies 🙂 x

I seem to remember one of our members (Einstein) using one of these occasionally because he found it difficult using pens because of neuropathy. It was quite a while ago though, but I'll see if I can dig it out. 🙂

thank you northener that would be great! 🙂x

Sorry to disappoint, but I've found the post I was thinking of but he doesn't give any details, other than it was a cannula/port designed specially for diabetics. They must be available though, by the very fact he mentions them. It was in a discussion about pumps. Here's the post in question (unfortunately I don't thin he has been on the forum for a while)
