At my pottery class last night, a friend asked me last if I'd heard of the LCHF diet! (I was eating cake at the time. More of the reasons for that tomorrow.) She then asked me if I should be eating cake. I was feeling rather hot and bothered at the time and she is very lucky to still be alive 😱

It did lead on to discussions about fruit and sugar in general - and me doing my bit to educate the world🙄. People really dont apply their brains - how can they not think dried fruit contains sugar, when it tastes sweet!o_O

Is she still your friend? 😉Hope she has been well educated now.
I had a conversation yesterday with a group of colleagues over the difference is result on my bgs (they'd noticed my libre sensor, I showed them my reader graph which was being spectaculary well behaved) which lead to a discussion about what made it move - they knew that the jam on the scones would make it peak, but hadnt twigged that the strawberries and scones would also make it rise considerably. I have to say, none of them showed the slightest inclination to second guess what i could do or not do, which was remarkably refreshing!

Is she still your friend? 😉

Skin of the teeth job!

Her oh is T2 and she is pre diabetes. She's at the bottom of a very steep learning curve😱

I was told by a nurse in hospital , to avoid fruit juice but to eat plenty of fruit as our bodies handle the sugar in fruit differently, at the time my BGs were up in the 20s.
I nodded and avoided fruit like the plague.

I have a friend who feels the need to do that all the time, can't imagine why, she knows I'm dangerous when being told what to do and she knows how dangerous. Ruddy death wish I think, and if she says to me one more time "why don't you have a banana, you won't need insulin for that" (she also thinks I don't need insulin for toast btw) I might rip out her still beating heart with my teeth.

Ooh PotterSusan, I didn't realise how much danger she's in till the moment I wrote that, I can taste the low carb treat that is a still beating heart, taste it I tells ya 😱

I love people like that! Should you be eating that, eat more fruit, dried fruit is good for you, etc etc. I heard the best one today at the weight management course im going to, a lady in there who is T2, thought it was ok to eat 10, yes 10, portions of fruit a day! She doesn't test. I almost fell off my chair! I said to her, next time you do that test your bloods just to see how good your 10 portions of fruit are!

None so blind as them that can't see, nor those as deaf as them that won't listen.

Alan Shanley has ALWAYS said 'What can't speak - can't LIE' - and he's talking about Glucometers in case you haven't realised LOL
