Well I've been ordering them as soon as I can to delay a situation of needing to explain myself what I do now get may seem like a fair bit some people at work but because of my life style(starting Friday I have the busiest werk and s bit coming up where o do test a fair bit) the time might come soon where I start paying again to keepr going(not sure when then) my life style does t suit limig, Ive event wanted to do background tests but haven't because I was nervous about using up strips. O thpughg the idea of changing strips wax goomg to stop the cannot reordet jnt date thayd want it sounded like apartelly not(I don't have great coffidrmnces I'm this either) ungoullth the cannot reorder until date is on insullin and needles as wellOh, I've been there. I have "wasted" many strips thinking I was hypo when I wasn't, and felt almost disappointed that my BG was normal. Obviously is not a waste because you need to be safe. I recently had a 3'7 after a walk, which was very easy to solve, but almost missed it thinking "bah, I shouldn't bother to test, I'm just tired and sweaty because of the exercise". So I would rather test if something feels off.
I know you have struggled to get enough strips (hope that is solved) so it doesn´t help.
Emm probably doesn't help that I get moaned at for test strip usage sometimesI think you did exactly the right thing @rayray119
You felt symptoms, thought you could have been experiencing the warning signs of impending hypoglycaemia and checked your levels to be sure.
As it turned out, you weren’t low (sometimes I get quite low-like symptoms when high too - especially hunger and feeling a bit spaced out).
Better to know than ignore it, and end up with a nasty low.

Unfortunately it's not just go surgery. I changed doctors since but not an better and it's not just test strips I have cannot reorder date on needles and insullin and well. As well. My old sugerry was expected 100 needles to last 2 months at work one point I get more now but it will still onlly covers the pain miuem.Yes I did think that would have quite a lot to do with it 😡
Your GP surgery really needs to update its thinking on T1 and blood glucose monitoring. Fewer strips have been proved to be LESS cost effective, because they are associated with a reduced ability to be able to manage T1 well.
Correct me if I wrong I think what think if if what @everydayupsanddowns was referring to is one where you might need assistance to treet it.What is considered a nasty low out of interest. I am new to this, and find myself realizing I need to test and being under 5- and when I have felt particularly bad its under 4. Just not sure if I am being dramatic tbh

This where I wondered about the lower target if 3.9 target alot of things and places seem to haveTypically anything below 4.0 is treated as hypoglycaemia.

yes, the and for the test strips the cannot reorder until isn't on there under more so there(it is still for everything else else though)That is really good news @rayray119. 🙂
When you say a Doctor, is that the GP at your Surgery where your prescription requests get authorised? I ask because over the last 2yrs I've come into contact with numerous Doctors and Consultants and had some difficulties in getting a co-ordinated follow-up that results in the correct amended prescription! So I've learnt to not take it for granted that what has been said will be what is actually done.
