Awarded the Alan Nabarro Medal, in recognition of me living with diabetes T1 for over fifty years.

The award was made by Chris Askew Chief Executive, Diabetes UK.

When it arrived it made me stop and think how many injections I have had over the years, the good times and the bad ones but I am still here to tell the tales, thanks to insulin and sticking to a strict diet.

Fantastic achievement jusme...shamefully I am still so ignorant of type 1 diabetes and insulin use...however...I cannot imagine how different/difficlut the treatment was for type 1 all those years ago when you were first diagnosed...must have been traumatic...but...as you say...you are still here to tell the tales...good & bad...great testament to your strength & fortitude...deserves recognition...encouraging & inspiring to others.

Bit like me and Pete then - most unlikely to celebrate our Golden Wedding considering I was 50 and he a bit older, when we wed! LOL Doubt if we'll make Pearl, let alone Ruby .....
