injection at lunchtime today. It was the first time, but yesterday I pricked her finger and her dad said this morning would I be alright injecting her and I said yes, I have to do it sometime. I injected in her leg and she was so good, she is so good about it all the time.
I made some Tuna Pasta last night so she had that with bread and butter, a yougurt and a banana. She's on Humilin during the day and now has a night time one as well. I'm so proud of her, at the moment she is having a little sleep on the settee with Boo, her bear, and a blanket. Sheena

Well done Sheena. I know how heartbreaking it is having to inject someone else, especially so young.
Well done little Grace, being so good for her grandma🙂

Sheena well done to you for staying so calm and to little Grace, she is one brave little girl...x

Well done Sheena, must be so daunting for Grace and everyone, but with you granny being there it will be good for her xxx

Sheena, well done for managing to stay calm and do the injection. Grace sounds like she is an amazing little girl.

Not you think its amazing how accepting young children are , Grace is amazing ,and Sheena so are you well done on your excellent care 🙂

What a lucky little girl to have such a calm and knowledgeable Grandmum... Well done to you 🙂

Well done to both of you 🙂

Thanks everyone, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I had to do it, so I just did. She has accepted the routine with no crying, shouting or tantrums, so I think we are pretty lucky 🙂 I have shown Grace my 'prickers' and my Insulin pens, so she knows it's not just her with the condition. Sheena

Hi Sheena,
the next update will be.......... Grace has asked to inject her Grandma :D
Well done on doing the injection for her.
So pleased Grace has accepted things ok. Even though it's ad for the family when a small child developes diabetes, in a way it is probably better than having it as a teenager. Routines can be set and it's life so to speak.

Well done sheena. I know as a parent what a huge help it makes to have someone who you can trust who can help with the care. I know my life would be a million times harder without my wonderful mum so a HUGE pat on the back to you and all the wonderful grannys and grandads out there. X
