I can have eclairs occassionally? That's the best news i've had in ages! A little bit of endulgence is ok every so now and then (fridays is naughty day for me, i need it after a week of work🙂 ) I too struggle with the junk food munchies on a fairly regular basis.

So Alison...are you coming to NGH for your op?:D If so, feel free to pop by Pharmacy and say hi (when you're feeling better) and the good news is we're having an effiency drive at the moment and most prescriptions are getting done in under an hour (yes, i know that sounds terrible to Boots or Lloyds, but it's good for us!), and we now offer single sex wards and the patient's menu is apparently far superior to the staff's..

Alison,

I used to have similar feelings.

May I suggest you consider what I discovered when temptation is too great?

I make amends by 'burning it off'. I walk with my ipod on flat out or borrow a dog.

Oh my word you're obviously at NGH looks like I'll be in good company. Was there today at pre-op assessment not a nice vampire there think she tried to use a knitting needle lol

I've found that by replacing sweet things by savoury I've actually weaned myself off most sweet things and only have them occasionally now. I'vegot a packet of hobnobs in the kitchen that I bought nearly a year ago - bet they've gone off/soggy by now! 😱

I better take the hobnobs off your hands then Northerner..:D

Tez the only thing with that is I have arthritis in my hips knees and ankles which makes walking rather uncomfortable. But thanks for the suggestion 🙂

Yeah, you do run a bit of a gauntlet with blood testing, some of them are really good, some of them arn't so good. I've no idea who he was (too busy freaking out about having diabetes at the time) but i'd avoid a male A&E staff member, he put a drip in the back of my hand and left a bruise covering most of it for about a fortnight.

I'm sorry to hear about your arthritis Ange. My right knee is starting to show symptoms so I know what you are feeling.

Could I suggest you have a naughtier than usual treat a few hours before a swim?

Or I could post my work shirts up for you you to iron?😱

That could burn it off.:D

Ouch the nurse I go to at my surgery uses a butterfly needle as I have "deep veins" but this one today didn't even attempt to find a vein she sent me "downstairs" she was really gentle and had no trouble heyho

In all honesty I am finding that I don't crave the sweet things quite so much. I miss having a Danish pastry with my morning coffee in Starbucks though, but I have discovered that there is a lovely humous with sticks of celery and carrot which have taken over, it is a really nice (inexpensive) treat and hopefully not as bad for me as some things.

I hope any other cravings will float away too soon.

Chocolate is one of those things that rears its head without any warning though isn't it?!!!

oh, and I still have a very bruised and quite uncomfortable arm from my blood test on Wednesday !

Hi allison,
I am type 2 like you, and im on a very low carb diet. Im also a chocaholic.....big time...but i buy low carb bars and choccy spreads from a low carb store not a million miles away from you in Wellingborough.
I dont go without, I just find an alternative....
