Think it was well deserved criticism especially as he spoke on tv a fair bit about his health issues when one of his books came out but then there’s still a lot of confusion now over our diet recommendations for type 2, I follow low GI and has helped me but now I am living with complications I am trying to bring in more low carb and think it’s definitely got benefits and not being promoted enough.
I know since then he’s lost some of his business and been in trouble for some issues so hope he has learned if he is still working.
I think both he and Tom Kerridge wrote the books as they had been diagnosed with Type 2 but as you say their recipes are pretty high carb, I was very disappointed with the Tom Kerridge one I bought.

I like the caldesi books but the recipes often conflict with my other stomach and bowel complaint’s and their recommended diets, hope you manage better now.

Yes I like those, despite many many recipe books I usually just make things 'out of my head'. My daughters were always saying they didn't like brains.

When I was first diagnosed in July 2022 I bought a few second hand books by diabetes UK

I understand that they were written 15 years ago but they are now with the recycling team at the local skip as they were utterly useless full of recipes with carbs , carbs and carbs

I am surprised they havnt been in court for their advice from sufferers who followed their instructions

Those books may well be fine for those who are Type 1 or other Types who are on insulin.

Not too many words and just the basics would help

They all seem to try and ramble on about their philosophy and why their way is the best but I just want the info to cook quick , healthy food

Why is this made so difficult ?
Eat to Beat Type 2 Diabetes by the Hairy Bikers worked for me and has helped put my type 2 diabetes into remission. It has been written by chefs that have had type 2 diabetes.
