Type 2
Hi I am new to this i have had type 2 diabetes for over 10 years and i am struggleling

Hi @steviepops welcome to the forum. Is there anything in particular you are finding difficult at the moment? If you feel able to it could be helpful to share a bit more about how you treat your diabetes at the moment. Are you taking any medications? What sort of diet do you follow? Or if you have any questions then do ask! Lots of members have been through difficult times at some point for one reason or another and I’m sure you’ll find plenty of support.

Welcome to the forum @steviepops . I am glad that you have found us.

Do come back with any questions that you have. Nothing is considered silly on here.
Just ask away.

Welcome to the forum @steviepops

Diabetes can be fickle and frustrating, but don’t give up. Small changes you make to your diet and diabetes management strategies (and trying new ones!) can make a huge difference, and even small reductions in BG levels and variability can result in significant reductions in the risk of developing or worsening risks of long-term diabetes complications.

What are you struggling with? And what things are you trying?

Hello @steviepops and welcome from me as well.
I was also first diagnosed with type 2 about 10 years ago, and have had may ups and downs through the years.

Things have changed a lot since then though.
I got virtually no support and advice at all when I was first diagnosed, and although NHS support is still varied and patchy, there is much more knowledge and support available now, as you will see if you look around the forum.

My solution has been to follow a low carb diet, take more exercise, plus metformin. - But we are all different and everyone has to work on the best sustainable solution for them.
Please ask about any particular aspects that are causing you problems, and we can send you some links.
There is a lot of useful information on the Learning Zone (link at the top of the page)
