Hi everyone it's the pain in the a**e here.
Thanks to everyone who has helped me get my hypos sorted out what a scary time that was, I haven't had a hypo this last week my readings for the week have been between 9.6 and 5.4 and that's because of Listening to you guys about eating lunch and not skipping meals. Which I have stuck too it's a great feeling not suffering from hypos most days. I had a small glass of Cherries and Berries Old Moat Cider wow what a Cider to drink you can certainly taste the cherries in it. If things go right for me I have a wee celebration at the end of the week but not every week do things go right I do have my ups and downs in the days and I do certainly have my off days but I try to be cheerful and happy. The last time I was in the Opticians they asked if my eyes had been checked I said no they have always been blue.

That's great to hear! Well done! 🙂 the forum might've helped but you put it in to practice and carried it out so you should feel just as good about yourself as you feel towards the members xx

Well done @kevinr 😎 You’ve taken on board the suggestions and made sure you kept to them consistently. I’m glad things are working out for you🙂

So pleased things have improved so much for you Kevin, keep up the good work 🙂

Congratulations!
Diabetes takes a bit of effort some times, but well worth it. Having more stable BG levels makes you feel better physically and mentally. No harm in a little celebration when you have achieved a goal. Pleased you enjoyed it. Well done!

I feel really great about listening to the sound advice from my friends on this Diabetes forum I can call you friends can't I if its a no I understand.

Well done @kevinr

Good to read how well things have settled down.
You made me chuckle with checked eyes!

Oh thank you not many people can get it when I tell them including my optician she doesn't find it funny.
People are so bloody miserable and serious nowadays, wander round the supermarket and they mooch about with hangdog miserable faces, it's so rare to see anybody smiling, when I do I wonder what they're hiding and then a waft of it comes my way......

Hi Barfly I see you are missing your ales I miss the ales I use to drink in my home city in Yorkshire. I now live in Scotland and up here in Scotland we get 4 seasons in one day. I came to Scotland 15 years ago and I was always in the real ale bars pubs and festivals but now I have to stay home and have the 4% fruit Cider now and again as I use to drink quite a lot of Hobgoblin ale and Theakstones old peculiar plus a favourite of mine was Oatmeal Stout from a brewery in Yorkshire that is no longer producing their excellent ales as they had to close down. A micro brewery as taken up residence now.

Kevin. Other end of the country to you and exactly the same issues with real ale and pubs closing down. There is a bit of a respite now with the influx of grockles but come the end of September I wonder how many will survive the Winter. I'm sitting here on Poole Quay with a cuppa and the place is absolutely heaving. Brownsea Island and the Purbeck Hills in
the background looking South-West.

Oh I wish I was down there with you Barfly as it's been a very long time since I was in Poole, me being a rail enthusiast I use to travel with fellow rail enthusiast all over England when I wasn't working in the Heavy forge and Melting Shop. My Holidays was spent sitting behind a Loco with a load 9 coaches heading to places including Poole and Plymouth, Newton Abbott, Dawlish, Penzance, our plan was Real Ale, Rock Music, Railways and trying just about any pub we could find on our travels but the Campaign For Real Ale Guide helped us a lot oh how I miss them days and propping up the bars drinking Old Speckled Hen, Wobbly Bob, Hoegarden wheat beer, Hobgoblin Witches Brew, Skull Cracker and Dog Bolter to name just a few. Oh happy days but not so happy these days.
