For clarification, I am not implying we stick in the 6s and 7s (or 5s and 6s). When calculating my insulin dose, I use 5.5 as the target in my formula. My level often spikes higher than this and may drop lower, especially when I exercise.
My comment above was in response to the suggest to stay around 6 and 7 which suggests a target of about 6.5 mmol/l which would result in a height HbA1C.
Again I emphasise this is a target for someone who has slowly bought their levels down. And being “mostly in the green” is great for most of us.
 
It would be ecstatic if I could stay in the 6s and 7s all day. Just happy to be mostly in the green at this stage.
