Just experienced my first hypo with reading of 3.8. Maybe I have been too strict with limiting carbs, so will adjust diet again.

What medication are you taking?
It is not unheard of for people without diabetes to experience blood sugars lower than 4 - my partner has seen it a few times after exercise.
If you are used to high blood sugars, this may feel uncomfortable but if you are not on blood sugar lowering meds, it is not something to worry about.
If you are on blood sugar lowering meds, you should always have hypo treatments (fast acting glucose like jelly babies) with you.

I am taking Gliclazde
I think - but could be wrong - that your glucazide needs amending to be in line with your carb intake. Talk to your GP/nurse and ask of you should be reducing it now you've reduced carbs. Otherwise you're only taking your carbs for medication - rather than to manage your diabetes.

Gliclazide pushes the body to release more insulin, and can cause hypoglycaemia, so as the other members have said you should carry hypo treatment with you just in case, and also speak to your diabetes nurse about the low BG you are experiencing and whether you need to reduce your dose.
