So im in work and i just had a hypo, that i didnt even know about.
I am not coming around and its not very nice not knowing

Hi karen, sorry to hear this :( Did your work colleagues have to help you? A lot of people are finding that the hot weather is really sending them low without much (if any) warning. Hope you are feeling much better soon 🙂

Hi
I work with my mum and dad, all i know is my mum was in my office with a can of coke and a biscuit and my blood machine treating me. I had no warning sign at all, i feel terrible, very embarased 😱

I've just been caught out too - although thankfully realised just in time as my boss wouldn't have a clue what to do! BG 2.8 with no prior warnings. Just can't cope with the heat while being stuck in the office. Feeling sick now.

Hope you're ok for rest of day!

Karen my dear, there is absolutely no reason to be embarrassed 🙂 It's not your fault that this happened and it's not something you intended or wanted to happen, but unfortunately it did and your mum will be glad that she was there for you. The thing to do is to see if you can think of a possible cause. Did you inject too much for your breakfast, do you think? Is it hot where you are working? It's quite possible that your basal insulin requirements have changed quite a lot because of the change in climate - have you made any adjustments lately?

Sometimes hypos can strike us unawares, and sometimes we are aware of them, but absorbed in something else so tend to ignore it until suddenly it becomes more urgent to treat it. Remeber that a hypo is when your brain feels it is being deprived of energy, and as you only have one brain (I imagine!) that can also affect your judgement.

Don't beat yourself up about it, but see what you can learn from it so you can hopefully minimise the chances of it happening again 🙂

Aww, that's really sweet and great that he takes care of you. My husband used to be like that but has recently become a bit complacent about my hypos because I have so many and deal with them myself (where possible!). Worries me that we won't realise when I need him one day.
