I feel incredibly sick and feel like I physically need to be sick.

My bs has hit 3.5 & I feel like I'm dropping still.

Typically I'm home alone so have to fend for myself.

Anyone got any quick hypo treatment suggestions? I normally eat a couple of glucose tablets.

Could you dissolve some sugar in water and sip that Di? I think one teaspoon is about 5g of sugar. Or any sweet drinks you have in the cupboards. Hope you can get your levels up and that you recover soon - keep posting so we know how you are.

Have you got any (non diet) tonic water. I find that OK when feeling iffy. Or possibly lemonade?

Hope you feel better soon

I must order extra strips straight away !

Can't believe how sick I feel, got a right head on me !

Have you any ginger biscuits? Ginger is good for sickness.
Hope you feel better soon.

Do you know what might be causing the sickness Di? Something you ate?

Not sure why I feel sick, got bad stomarch pains as well, got to confess only had granary toast for tea as didn't feel like much.

Sue no biscuits in the house I don't trust myself lol would troff the lot at once.

Think I'm gonna get in bed and try and sleep x

Test before you go to sleep Di. What did you do about your evening insulin if you didn't eat much? I hope that you can get some good sleep and wake up feeling much better in the morning. {{{Di}}}

Thanks for your help x

I hope you feel better soon. For me feeling sick is the worst thing.

I keep some normal coke in the house for times such as these - pour it into a glass and stir it with a tea spoon until its flat and find that I am able to sip on it and the most important thing keep it down.

Boiled sweets to suck on might help or suck on some Jelly babies. Or how about warm water with sugar in it.

Take Care x

I concur with full-sugar Coke - it's actually quite good for settling your tum once you can eliminate the bubbles and you'll think this is really weird - if you heat it up a bit it goes down - and stays down - a lot better!

When I've been hospitalised I've been given warm water with dissolved sugar, as it was the only thing that stayed down it's very easy and quick to do too, and healthier than tea/coffee or even full sugar coke (all those nasty chemicals 😉 )

Still a bit of Steff - maybe it is just one of those mysterious things that surround the D - I often have days were I feel real sick but am not actual physically sick - last night was a pain because being low x

Hi Di I hope you are feeling better. Nearly everyone I know has had a tummy bug of some kind, seems to be one of those things doing the rounds. It lasts between 24 and 48 hours.

Hope you're getting better quickly Di. I find the only thing I can stomach when I'm feeling sick is Lucozade, but I like the flat coke idea as well! Don't forget your long lasting carbs after though...maybe just some bread or toast, or plain biscuits if you can.

Get better soon!

If you're feeling sick, then a full sugar drink, with a pinch of salt (so you can barely taste salt, if at all) can often help. While it sounds disgusting, if your electrolytes (salts) are inbalanced by vomiting / diarrhoea as well as lacking in sugar, it works very fast and effectively.

Alternatively, make your own sugar & salt solution with a measuring spoon - intended for use for developing world children, but also works in UK.
